CATHARSIS: Artists' stories on mental health
Opening Night: Fri 1 Nov 2019, 6PM to 11PM
Exhibition Dates: Sat 2 Nov – Sun 3 Nov
Opening Hours: 12PM to 8PM
Location: The Substation
An exhibition showcasing artists' personal stories on mental health.
Proudly curated by local illustrator, Sarah Thursday, Catharsis is a collective art exhibition where 15 artists express their deepest emotions and mental struggles through art. We hope to connect with others through our works and that our stories may help others feel less alone in their struggles of life.
At this show, we strive to encourage people to find healing to their mental wounds through sharing of experiences and their pains. By sparking more conversations, we aim to fight the negative stigma of mental health conditions, and bring about a closer understanding of mental health and illness to the society.
Our wish is for Singapore to be a more supportive, understanding and gracious society for everyone, especially for those who are struggling with mental health conditions. Catharsis is our approach on helping Singapore become a safer space and help others on their journey of having better mental health.

Artists will be putting up their own merchandise at a dedicated merch area where you can bring a peace of meaningful art back with you, and support the artists themselves at the same time. Expect a huge variety of merch from art prints, stickers, keychains to apparels such as tee shirts and totebags.
Join our interactive zone where we encourage visitors to share and write down their own personal stories dealing with their own struggles in life, as part of your own cathartic experience!
